the backstory
HitchPin is an online marketplace for farmers, ranchers, and others within the agriculture industry. With a strong vision of “The People Behind Our Food Matter,” HitchPin is dedicated to improving the way agriculture does business, and ultimately giving more power to food producers while strengthening the food chain.
the goals
As a start up business, HitchPin is constantly looking to improve its performance, usability, and interface to provide the best possible experience to its members.
A couple of obstacles HitchPin must overcome include changing the way older generations of ag-professionals think about technology and business while also combating any disintermediation as farmers and ranchers take business off-platform to avoid using new tech or to avoid fees.
Effort: Listing page redesign. Objectives: Include a section for how HitchPin works, de-emphasize the map, show related listings, draw attention to actionable items like chatting and making an offer.
Effort: Browse and search redesign. Objectives: create a browse page to show the most recent listings, display popular categories, make the search experience more intuitive and user-friendly.
